Just a few weeks ago, we were thrilled to announce the launch of Finlay’s Superstars, a new group designed to support children with additional support needs in a nurturing, playful, and therapeutic environment. Now, as we wrap up our very first block of sessions, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the joy, progress, and community that has blossomed every Friday morning at BounceOT.

A Space to Shine

From the very first session, it was clear that our Superstars were ready to shine. With the support of Jenni, our Therapeutic Play Leader, and Melissa, our dedicated volunteer, the children have embraced the new format with enthusiasm and curiosity. The therapy room has become a hub of movement and laughter, with the trampoline and specialist equipment helping our little ones develop their gross motor skills while also meeting their sensory processing needs in a fun and engaging way.

Building Confidence and Connection

One of the most heartwarming aspects of this block has been watching the children begin to connect with one another. Whether it’s sharing a toy, bouncing side by side, or simply enjoying each other’s company, we’re seeing the social benefits of these sessions come to life. The low numbers in each group mean that every child has the space and support they need to feel safe, seen, and celebrated.

A Calm Corner for Creativity

Meanwhile, our office space has been lovingly transformed into a calm and cozy play area. Here, our Superstars explore fine motor activitiesturn-taking games, and imaginative play with a variety of sensory toys. It’s also where the magic of community happens for the adults—parents, grandparents, and carers gather over a cuppa and a biscuit, sharing stories, support, and understanding. As one grandparent beautifully put it:

“Finlay’s Superstars has been a lifeline for our whole family. C loves coming along every week.”

Looking Ahead

We’re so proud of everything our Superstars have achieved in just a few short weeks. Their growing confidence, joyful engagement, and the bonds forming between families are exactly why we created this group. As we prepare to launch our next block of sessions, we’re filled with excitement to see how our Superstars continue to grow, explore, and thrive.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey so far. Here’s to many more mornings filled with smiles, support, and superstar moments!
