We’re proud to announce that our founder, Callum MacKinnon, has once again been invited to speak at the prestigious National Conference for Occupational Therapy in Diverse Settings, taking place online on 22nd October 2025.

Callum will be presenting from 3:45 to 4:15 PM on the topic:
“Scaling Occupational Therapy: Enhancing Impact and Value Through a Social Enterprise Model.”

This presentation will explore how social enterprise can be a transformative force in occupational therapy—broadening access, deepening community impact, and creating sustainable pathways for innovation in practice.

“The social enterprise business model has given us a powerful framework to deliver occupational therapy in ways that are sustainable, inclusive, and deeply connected to community needs. It’s not just about doing good—it’s about doing good well, with purpose and impact. I’m proud to share how this model continues to shape our journey and inspire new possibilities for the profession.”

This isn’t Callum’s first time contributing to this influential event. He previously spoke at the 2021 conference, where he introduced the early vision of integrating social enterprise principles into occupational therapy. His 2021 presentation, “Social Enterprise and Occupational Therapy,” laid the groundwork for what has since become a growing movement within the profession.

Callum’s return to the conference marks a significant milestone—not only in his personal journey but also in the evolution of our organisation’s mission to reimagine occupational therapy through enterprise, equity, and innovation.

The 2025 conference, organised by Dr Channine Clarke (University of Brighton), features a dynamic programme of speakers tackling diverse and emerging areas of practice, including:

  • Julian Morris on OT-focused service development through student placements
  • Mubeena Tarzi on neonatal occupational therapy
  • Katy Bailey on therapeutic communities and complex emotional difficulties
  • Sarah Meharg on improving neurodivergent outcomes in physical health settings
  • A keynote on the role of occupational therapy in gender services

We are incredibly proud of Callum’s continued leadership and the recognition of his work at a national level. His commitment to innovation, inclusion, and impact continues to inspire our team and the wider occupational therapy community.
