What is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational Therapy (OT) is a science-based, health and social care profession regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
In OT, ‘occupation’ refers to any activity we need, want, or enjoy doing to maintain our mental, physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. From birth, we engage in occupations, either individually or with others. OT empowers individuals to live their best lives, even when faced with limitations.
We provide varying levels of support, tailored to each person’s needs and preferences, helping them overcome challenges and engage in meaningful activities; whether it’s participating in school, working, playing sports, or simply doing daily tasks like washing the dishes.
While our scope is broad, everything we do revolves around enhancing an individual’s well-being, enabling them to fully participate in and enjoy life.
