Finlay’s Superstars — Pre‑School Sensory Fridays at BounceOT

No diagnosis required. Small numbers. Big smiles.

Our Story

Finlay’s Superstars began in 2021, founded by Jenni in loving memory of her son, Finlay, who had an extremely rare genetic condition and thrived with sensory play. Jenni’s earlier community classes—Sensory Tots Stirling—welcomed families into a warm, non‑judgemental space and kept the “golden rule”: never apologise for your child.

In early 2025, as Sensory Tots drew to a close, BounceOT stepped in to make sure Finlay’s Superstars could continue. From April 2025, the group found a new home in our therapeutic play room in Stirling every Friday, with the same heart and spirit—just with extra support behind the scenes.

“Finlay’s Superstars has been a lifeline for our whole family. C loves coming along every week.”

Today, BounceOT funds Jenni’s time so she no longer needs to volunteer it for free, and fundraising for the group is led jointly by Callum and Jenni, together with our community of families and friends.

What Fridays Feel Like

From the first moment, children are welcomed as they are. We keep numbers low so everyone has the space, time, and support they need to feel safe, seen, and celebrated.

In the therapy room

  • Movement and regulation through multisensory play, including the trampoline and specialist equipment.
  • Gentle, paced sessions that support gross motor skills, body awareness, and sensory processing—all through play.

In the calm corner next door

  • Our office becomes a cozy, low‑stimulus play area, with fine‑motor activities, turn‑taking games and imaginative play.
  • It’s also a community hub for grown‑ups—a place to enjoy a cuppa and a biscuit, swap stories, and feel connected.

What Makes Us Different

  • Low numbers for a calmer environment
  • Choice‑led, playful activities tailored to each child
  • Supported by trained staff and volunteers (with certified Therapeutic Play Leaders leading sessions)
  • A whole‑family approach: children play; grown‑ups connect
