Brian Stretton has been recruited by bOunceT to fill the new full-time Play Leader position, made possible by generous funding from The National Lottery Community Fund Scotland [for a 3 year project starting April 2022].
I’m looking forward to working with the children, young people, and adults, who access the service as I went to be part of helping them achieve all of their goals. I will make sure they have the best time during the activity sessions!

This new project starting April 2022 replaces the previous 3 year project that was jointly funded by The National Lottery Fund Scotland and The Robertson Trust - "Inclusive & Meaningful Play".
This project has now come to an end and will be blogged about later on this month. Keep an eye out on our podcast 'Meaningful Conversation' to hear more about the impact of this project over the last 3 years, and what the next 3 years will bring!
Brian is already popular with many of the families who access our therapeutic play sessions currently. He has had a varied career across health and social care, previously working as a support worker for PLUS in Stirling.
Prior to this, Brian worked as a carer for adults with disabilities and more recently has been working in a care home for adults with learning disabilities and older adults with dementia.
I have been working in the care sector for 9 years. I found my passion working with kids during my first year working in care in the community.
When I could make the change, I worked with several kids on a 1:1 basis who I supported every week and from there I discovered my passion to progress working in this field.
Brian states he is really excited to 'get back working in this kind of sector again' ... and we are pleased to have him as part of our developing team at Bounce OT!
When asked why he applied to work at bOunceT, he answered:
I feel I will learn a lot from bounce ot that I could not elsewhere, and I am looking forward to learning about how to run sessions and be part of working towards goals for the young people/adults with disabilities.
It was noted in his interview that Brian said he looks forward to 'having fun' at work and 'playing' all day - something he will certainly be doing in this role!
To keep things light hearted and interesting, we wanted to share one random fact about Brian -
He loves playing video games and going long walks with his three amazing dogs!
We look forward to welcoming Brian into the team in about 2 weeks time. Keep an eye out for him shadowing into sessions with both Eliza and Callum.
