Our Approach

Learn about what makes BounceOT different, what makes it a proven model for success, and what your role as a franchisee would entail.

Introduction to our Approach

Our mission is to create a fun, inclusive and safe space where children and adults with disabilities can engage in purposeful play with their families to create meaningful moments together.

Our skilled and compassionate staff provide specialist support for individuals looking to achieve personalised therapeutic goals, while also offering parents the opportunity for brief respite.

We are committed to inclusivity, welcoming individuals of all abilities - whether they have a diagnosed disability or not.

Our goal is to expand BounceOT, ensuring that anyone with additional support needs can access our therapeutic services, empowering them to improve their quality of life and enjoy fun, meaningful activities.

Our Services

Like other healthcare services across the public and private sectors, we follow a tiered model of service provision following the Universal, Targeted & Specialist (UTS) model:

Universal

For everyone

This includes Family Carer Sessions and Health Promotion activities that everyone can benefit from.

Targeted

For the majority our target population

Our accessible 1:1 Therapeutic Play Leader sessions & Rebound Therapy Training

Specialist

For a few only

Occupational Therapist (OT) Assessment & Intervention, Joint Assessments with another professional (e.g. Physiotherapist) and OT Coaching for parents & carers.

How Local Service Users Participate

People typically transition between Universal & Targeted levels of support during their time at BounceOT.

For example, they might enjoy the inclusive play space during 'family fun time’ before receiving one-on-one support from certified staff to work on specific therapeutic goals.

People can access our services for as long as needed, depending on their individual requirements. On average, individuals and families stay with us for 4-5 years, attending weekly or fortnightly sessions throughout the year. We continue to support a small number of people and their families who have been with us since the service's founding in 2017.

In addition to our long-term customers and beneficiaries, we also support individuals who engage with us for shorter, focused 'episodes of care’. For example, a young person may complete a series of 1:1 sessions with a Therapeutic Play Leader to work towards specific outcomes.

These sessions are typically arranged by families or carers for after-school or weekend appointments, and by teachers or education staff for pupils during school hours.

For an adult with a disability, sessions are generally booked in advance by family members or paid care staff.

As a parent, I see how happy she is which makes me smile" - Sandra, Parent Partner "She looks forward to the sessions and signs excitedly that she’s going ‘bouncing’!
