At Bounce OT, we believe play should feel simple. Some of the most meaningful play happens with everyday items already in your home. This page provides easy ideas to help your child explore, move, communicate, and enjoy their world without added stress.

• Children learn through doing, exploring and being curious
• Everyday materials remove pressure from families
• Sensory rich play supports regulation
• Play strengthens relationships

Everyday items that turn into play

Kitchen treasures
• Wooden spoons for drumming
• Pots and pans for sound play
• Rice or pasta in a bowl for scooping, pouring and sensory play
• Sponges for squeezing or water play

Living room fun
• Cushions for building a soft obstacle path
• Blankets for dens

• Cardboard boxes for climbing in and out.

• Pushing and posting toys

Bathroom moments
• Cups for pouring
• Bubbles for blowing
• A flannel as a sensory tool to explore wet and dry textures

Recycling box play
• Toilet roll tubes for tunnels
• Cardboard for ramps
• Bottle tops for sorting, matching or posting

Play does not need to be complicated.

Children simply need moments of connection, curiosity and joy.

You already have everything you need :)
