We are excited to announce that Kris, a committed parent and long-time supporter of BounceOT Stirling, has been promoted to the role of Interim Chair of the Board of Directors. Kris has been an invaluable Non-Executive Director (NED) with us for several years and has demonstrated exceptional dedication since first engaging with our services in 2017. We’re thrilled to see Kris step into this leadership role to guide BounceOT through the next chapter of its growth.
"I am honored to step into the role of Interim Chair at BounceOT Stirling. Since 2017, I have witnessed the positive impact we have on children and adults with disabilities. I look forward to working with the Board and Callum to advance our mission and strategic objectives. Together, we will ensure BounceOT Stirling continues to be a beacon of support and innovation in our community."
As Interim Chair, Kris will take on additional responsibilities, including leading Board meetings, ensuring actions are completed by Directors, and supporting Callum MacKinnon, Founder and Executive Director, with the development and implementation of our strategic objectives. Kris’s deep understanding of our mission, combined with years of experience as a Non-Executive Director, makes him the ideal candidate for this important position.
The Role of a Non-Executive Director and Responsibilities of the Board
Kris’s transition into the Interim Chair role highlights the vital importance of the Board in shaping the future of BounceOT Stirling. As a Non-Executive Director, Kris has already contributed significantly to the governance and oversight of our work, ensuring that we remain focused on our mission to improve the lives of children and adults with disabilities. The Board is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the organisation, approving key policies, and ensuring the delivery of our core purpose.
We are still actively seeking other passionate individuals to join our Board. Non-Executive Directors play an essential role in offering advice, guidance, and challenge to the senior leadership team. Directors are responsible for overseeing our operations, financial health, risk management, and governance, ensuring that we stay accountable to our vision and mission.
Your Responsibilities as a Non-Executive Director
As a Non-Executive Director with BounceOT Stirling, you will:
- Support our Purpose and Vision: Offer advice and guidance on our mission, goals, and activities.
- Approve Strategies and Monitor Progress: Oversee operational strategies, policies, and their implementation.
- Financial Oversight: Review and approve financial plans and budgets, and monitor progress.
- Risk Management: Ensure that risks are identified and managed effectively.
- Support the Senior Leadership Team: Provide support and constructive challenge to Callum in his role.
- Contribute to Governance Reviews: Participate in regular assessments of our governance model.
- Promote BounceOT: Use your skills, knowledge, and network to help enhance our reputation and reach.
Directors also attend four Board meetings per year and may meet 1:1 with Callum and/or Kris to review actions and ensure progress.
Time Commitment
Directors are asked to commit to attending four Board meetings annually and engage with the leadership team as necessary. While this is a voluntary position, your involvement will have a direct impact on the success of our mission.
The Benefits of Joining BounceOT
In addition to the satisfaction of contributing to a meaningful cause, Directors at BounceOT Stirling benefit from our health plan provided by Westfield Health, which includes optical, dental, and podiatry coverage.
We’re grateful for Kris’s continued commitment to BounceOT and are confident that his leadership will guide us through an exciting period of growth.
